Student Assistant (HiWi) for Software and Linux Administration (m/f/d)
The „Molecular and Cellular Modeling“ Group at Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) is looking for a student assistant (for approx. 20h+ /month) to help with the following tasks.
- Compilation, testing and installation of application software packages
- Installation and upgrade of Ubuntu – Linux operating systems
- Documentation (Wiki, HTML)
In addition, the student assistant will contribute to software projects through:
- Development of webtools (python, possibly Java) for scientific software
- Development of scientific software (Fortran, C)
Prerequisites:
- Good Linux knowledge (Ubuntu)
- Good programming knowledge in python
- Programming experience in Fortran, C or Java is beneficial
- Background knowledge in molecular simulation, biophysics and structural biology is desirable
Worktimes: 20 – 40 h/month
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Workplace: HITS, Schloss-Wolfsbrunnenweg 35, 69118 Heidelberg
