By Meik Bittkowski, Science Media Center Germany, Cologne
One way to augment (not replace) science journalism is to provide technological support for journalistic work processes, from monitoring and research to the production of new content. The Science Media Center Germany, founded in 2015, had its own R&D lab right from the start to explore the possibilities of this form of augmentation and test it in prototype applications. This talk will take you through the stages of our journey so far, which began here at HITS in 2012.
